The Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit announced on October 1 that it selected the National Museum of Korea as the venue for the official reception luncheon of the G20 Seoul Summit. The committee chose the museum for the reception on November 11 so participants and guests will be able to view Korea’s national treasures freely, and foreign media will be able to introduce Korean culture and history overseas, an official from the committee said. The committee will also arrange performances to introduce the beauty of Korean culture to attendees. The committee expects as many as 20,000 people, including press, world leaders, and representatives, will head to Seoul for the Summit on Nov. 11-12.
Meanwhile, the government plans to focus on practical preparations for hosting the international gathering in an efficient and economically responsible manner.
It plans to install light emitting diode (LED) lighting system inside the summit venue and use electric cars provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government as official vehicles to save energy.
